Danh từ tập hợp và sự hòa hợp
Danh từ tập hợp đặt tên cho một nhóm người hoặc sự vật như một đơn vị duy nhất. Trong tiếng Anh Mỹ (chuẩn cho TOEIC), danh từ tập hợp đi với động từ số ít. Ví dụ thông dụng: team, staff, committee, board, company, management, audience, jury, faculty.
Quy tắc

Collective noun + singular verb (The board has approved the plan.)
Ngoại lệ: với 'of' + danh từ số nhiều
Verb still agrees with the collective noun (A team of engineers is working on it.)

Chủ ngữ là 'a team' (số ít), không phải 'engineers'.
