Can và Could

'Can' diễn tả khả năng hiện tại, khả năng chung hoặc sự cho phép trong ngữ cảnh thân mật. 'Could' diễn tả khả năng trong quá khứ, yêu cầu lịch sự, khả năng giả thuyết hoặc gợi ý. 'Could have + PP' mô tả khả năng chưa được thực hiện hoặc cơ hội bị bỏ lỡ trong quá khứ.

S + can + V₁ (She can speak three languages.)

Can — xin phép
